Condo Hotel installs WinPM
MSI enhances WinPM with Condo Hotel
reporting.
PHOENIX
— JANUARY 16, 2008 — Rivertide Suites in Seaside Oregon offers luxurious
amenities in a beautiful setting, featuring well appointed
“apartment-style” suites, a Crow’s Nest view of the surrounding ocean and
mountains and first class service and amenities. Terry Bichsel, the owner
of the hotel, decided to go with a sure bet for the technology. “We use
MSI’s WinPM system at our Best Western Oceanview resort and really like
the system.” He said. “With two properties in the same town it makes sense
to use the same system so staff can move from one hotel to the other.”
Mr. Bichsel did his due diligence when selecting his first property
management system – even visiting hotels to watch the staff interact with
the software. He liked the ease of use of WinPM and for the Best Western
property he wanted the Two-Way interface. After installation he
experienced some unexpected challenges and cites MSI’s perseverance in
resolving the challenges as one of the reasons that he decided to persist
the solution into his new Rivertide Suites property. “Clay Porter and Tim
Tiller never gave up.” Terry commented, “It took a few tries to get to the
root of the problem and I really appreciated their perseverance. It made
me confident that MSI was the right choice for the Rivertide Suites.”
He once again did his due diligence discovering that the systems designed
for condo hotels didn’t manage the hotel side of the business as well as
WinPM and MSI was able to accommodate the Home Owner Association (HOA)
reporting that the Rivertide Suites property needed for it’s condo owners.
Clay Porter, the MSI Product Manager responsible for the changes is
excited about the potential for WinPM in the Condotel marketplace. “WinPM
is a robust product that has a lot to offer these properties”, he
commented. “It is a pleasure to work with someone like Terry who has such
an in depth operations knowledge and is generous about sharing his ideas
for changes we can make to accommodate this market.”

The new functionality includes a “booked because” feature that will help
the property to explain the booking patterns across the multi owner suites
and a report card for a room showing all revenue that was generated by
guests occupying the room. WinPM is a good fit for a condo hotel as the
hotel management generally maintains the rooms, common area and landscape.
MSI is looking at integration that will extend WinPM’s range into the
fractional market that requires more back office reporting and
administration.
